Most of us spent the afternoon outside today. It was a beautiful March day--clear, sunny blue sky with nary a cloud in sight, temperature around 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Dad took the hard, messy job of cleaning the stalls after the long winter build-up. I gave the goats--all 20 of them--a complete pedicure (a.k.a. hoof trim). That adds up to 160 toes trimmed! (I wouldn't be surprised if I dream of hoof-trimming...) Josiah and Joy were our helpers, pushing wheelbarrows and corralling goats.
I apologize for the lack of pictures--our camera is missing right now.
Mom and Jess spent the majority of the day inside--Jess doing food prep for the weekend; Mom working on Jess's dress for Liberty Day, to which all hands are looking forward to--just a week from today! Festive marches for prelude/postlude music fill the house, Joy dancing around the music room as I practice!
Also, this afternoon saw the arrival of Grandma Jan. She often stays over at our place on Saturday nights to be closer to church in the morning--right down the road. So we all enjoyed having an extra alto in our singing time tonight!
Other than that, life is filled with the delightful ordinary. There's lots to look forward to as well. With concerts for Daniel and I in April and June, and a family wedding sandwiched in May, we won't be having any dull moments! I often marvel at how the calendar that's virtually empty at the beginning of the year fills to overflowing as the days and weeks pass...
